Dont know what the deadline is but we've got a while ;)
Pointers? Gosh I dont know! When I trained last year, I worked my way up to 3-4 miles and would do 2-3 runs during the week and Saturday would be my "long day." I didnt have a running partner, but I told everyone that I was going to be running in the Cowtown so I had lots of people holding me accountable and encouraging me. Slowly, I worked my long runs up- and the funny thing is, I only ever got up to 8 miles! I told the girl I ran with that I wasnt prepared and she insisted that we'd cross the finish together. I think a combination of adrenaline and sheer willpower was all that got me those last 4 miles :)
I'm only doing 2 miles at a time now- you've got more than enough time to get ready!
I'm a self-deprecating lifestyle blogger wanting an audience. Professionally trained chef; domestically trying to stay in budget. Mom of an estrogen train, lucky wife to a hard-working corporate slave. I usually learn lessons the hard way and prefer to share my failed attempts with the world. Welcome.
