no different.

a skit: the first scene begins with a family who had adopted a 17-year old son after losing their teenage daughter to a drunk driver. they took the boy into their home and lavished their love on him. come to find out that the son they adopted is the drunk driver who killed their daughter. rather then allow him to be convicted and sent to prison, they rescued him and adopted him into their own family. they loved him as they loved their daughter. he was given a second chance. he was forgiven. he was redeemed.

the skit so powerfully made the obvious point that we are no different than the drunk driver in the skit. our sinful actions have caused the death of our father's beloved son. rather than suffer the penalty for our actions, he gave us another chance. further, the father adopts us into his family and lavishes his love upon us. we are redeemed.
